About the Role

NAAMC has a volunteer or missionary-specific opportunity available for the role of Director of Member Care. Reporting to the COO, the Director of Member Care is responsible for providing, preparing, equipping, empowering staff for effective life and service and to promote spiritually health so that the Gospel is proclaimed.

Responsibilities:

Directs, supervises, and coordinates the ministry of the Member Care Team worldwide for domestic personnel, field personnel, and their families.

Research and build out member care strategy and growth goals according to best practices, participating in member care coaching process during first year

Supervise the Member Care Team, including both counseling and administrative supervision to ensure a consistent, approach to Member Care.  Will work with CEO to develop organizational guidelines for employee evaluations and oversee all administrative aspects of the Member Care team.

Provide consultation as needed for domestic and in field Human Resources cases where Corrective Action, Termination, or other disciplinary action may be involved. 

Oversee the Member Care Team budget, including directing of funds for all the support areas.

Provide training to missionaries at NAAMC conferences.

Advocate for missionaries with all levels of leadership.  Help leadership understand the needs of missionaries impacted by global crisis and organizational decisions.  

Requirements



  • Master’s degree in Psychology or Counseling

  • Licensure as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW or its equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in case management and supervision dealing with a broad range of obstacles within the African American missions field and working with a number of different counselors providing care to missionary personnel.

  • Experience counseling African American missionaries


This is a Fully Remote Work Opportunity with some on-site events required.
