Arise and Shine

We have to realize that just like this unnamed woman prepared the body of Jesus by pouring out her alabaster box in Matthew 26:6-13, “Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say unto you, wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her, prepared the body of Jesus for His burial”, we women are called especially these last days to prepare the body of Christ for his second coming. It is our time and our watch.

In pouring out our own alabaster box, our gifting, just like this unnamed woman we have to be ready to give up what cost us the most to be able to fulfil our vision. For us to be able to play our role whether big or small, seen or unseen, celebrated or not celebrated we have to die to self, total surrender to our Lord Jesus and His cause, in seeing the nations coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ for their eternal salvation.

Be passionate about the call of God in your life but not about your popularity. Our call is not about us but about imparting and influencing lives to get them ready for the coming of our Lord Jesus and in fulfilling their own destiny. We do not know her name but Jesus said what she did will be a memorial for her in the world. If heaven knows you it’s all that matters.

Be ready to use what you have, no more time dwelling on the limitations but seeing the possibility through the Word of God. It is as we use what we have that God multiplies it and the fragrance will reach far and wide to the nations. Your gifting is a blessing to your generation and generation yet to come.

Don’t listen to your critics that are saying it’s a waste of time or what impact is your ministry making. It was the disciples of Jesus, the Apostle that looked at her with indignation. Don’t forget that the real enemy is the devil he can used anyone that is available to discourage you, but don’t give in, keep doing the vision the Lord has given to you. You are working for God not for man.

Be fearless and ready to break the norm. She was in a society that does not welcome woman in a man’s world, but she was not intimidated. She was ready to change history in order to fulfill her destiny. Don’t let your past, gender, your origin limits you from becoming all that God has called you to be. She was not invited but she invited herself.

It is time to respond to the call to arise and shine because in Matthew 5:14-16, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”. As we, women respond to the clarion call of our Lord in Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. The nations await your manifestation. God bless you.
