In Ruth 1:16-17, Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me." Ruth a Moabite under a course was able to come into relationship with the only true God of Israel by renouncing the false gods of her forefathers and accepting the God of her mother-in-law, Naomi. Even as a child of God in Ruth 2:17, still depending on her own strength and wisdom she was only able to glean about an ephah of barley after a whole day's work. But in Ruth 3:1-15 after first obeying the instruction of her mother-in-law Naomi which means grace, she was able to get six ephahs of barley by just getting into intimacy, lying at the feet of her Kinsman redeemer Boaz.
We are called to make time for God even in our busy schedule because it is in our intimacy with God that gets us into His rest, when we surrender all to God and stop trying to do it in our own strength and wisdom. When Ruth surrendered at her Kingsman feet, she got six times more of what she can get with her own strength and wisdom. God is calling us to that place of total surrender in every aspect of our lives, when we obey Him even if it does not make sense or it is not conventional. It is only in His rest that we come into that place of breakthrough and fulfilment of our God given purpose. Ruth not just got the blessing she became a channel of blessing to the Nations. As we reach the nations for Jesus, we can only be effective and see a bountiful harvest of souls as we put quality time with God as our number one strategy.
